Materials and craft

VENICEM works with brass and Murano glass. The brass is patinated and finished by hand. Burnished, nickel, chrome and gold finishes are all in use, and each changes the character of the same form. The glass is blown by Venetian masters, in clear and opal versions with soft diffusion as well as rich colours: amber, blue, smoke grey.

Hand production almost never yields two identical objects. Natural impurities in the glass, the temperature of the workshop air and the movement of the glassblower's hands leave subtle differences in every piece. Two lamps from the same series will not be perfectly identical in tone and transparency, and VENICEM treats that as a quality rather than a flaw. Besides glass, the furniture series use bronze, marble, crystal and wood.

Collections

The range covers pendants, wall lamps, floor and table lamps and chandeliers, as well as furniture. Collections rest on the recognisable pairing of brass and glass and scale from a single module to large compositions.

In the Optical series a solid glass body refracts the light; there are pendant, floor and table versions in amber and smoke-grey glass. Doma combines burnished brass and blown glass with a soft, diffused light, and includes wall, floor and table lamps and chandeliers. Numa is built on sculptural brass lines that hold a light module in equilibrium. Grace is a set of suspension compositions in crystal glass and metal for tall spaces. Rectus reduces the form to a minimum: wall and floor lamps with an adjustable arm. The Serge and Equilibre furniture series include dining and coffee tables, consoles and storage in tinted bronze and marble.

Designers

VENICEM's design is led by its founders, Massimo Tonetto and Melissa Lunardi. Both came to the brand with experience of light and Murano glass reaching back to the late 1990s. Their approach rests on the balance of simple volumes and living material. The form stays restrained, and all the expression is left to the material itself: the patina of brass and the depth of glass.

VENICEM in Moscow

ALPIX.pro arranges direct supply of VENICEM to Moscow from Europe. We work with the brand's current catalogue: pendants, wall, floor and table lamps and furniture in every available brass finish and glass colour. For designers and architects there are project terms, selection to specification and coordination of custom orders with the brand. Murano glass pieces need special logistics, so ALPIX takes on safe packaging and delivery to site. Made-to-order production takes about 14–15 weeks; the exact time by item and volume is confirmed at quotation.
