VENICEM
Venetian handmade lighting — Murano glass, original design, direct supply to Moscow via ALPIX.pro.
About the brand
VENICEM is a Venetian designer lighting brand founded in 2008. All luminaires are created on the island of Murano using traditional hand-blowing techniques: lampwork, casting and murrina.
Every VENICEM piece is unique — natural variations in glass colour and transparency make each pendant, wall sconce or floor lamp unlike any other. This is the brand's deliberate position: not a serial product, but a genuine art object.
VENICEM collaborates with leading international designers: Toni Cordero, Gordon Guillaumier, Marco Piva, Lara Bohinc. Each author brings their own aesthetic — from minimalism to expressive form — while Murano glass masters realise it in the material.
The range covers all formats: pendant lights, wall sconces, floor lamps and table lamps. For large-scale projects — custom configurations and exclusive colours.
ALPIX.pro arranges direct supply of VENICEM to Moscow. Project pricing for designers and architects, specialist logistics for fragile Murano glass pieces.

History
VENICEM was founded in 2008 in Venice — a city where the tradition of glassblowing craftsmanship has continued uninterrupted since the 13th century. The brand's name blends «Venezia» and «cem» (from Latin «caementum», a binding agent) — reflecting the core idea: binding Venetian craft to contemporary design, without reducing the former to mere decoration.
Founder and creative director Massimo Tonetto began his career as a furniture designer, but Murano glass became the material through which he found his own design language. From the outset, VENICEM chose an approach atypical for niche Italian brands: not a closed single-artist studio, but an open platform for collaboration with leading designers from different countries. Toni Cordero, Gordon Guillaumier, Marco Piva, Lara Bohinc — each invited author framed the brief in their own aesthetic, and the Murano masters realised it in glass available nowhere else.
In 2012 VENICEM presented at Euroluce (Salone del Mobile) a collection that immediately appeared in professional reviews. Since then the brand has been a regular presence at major international trade shows and consistently features in design lighting shortlists.
Murano: Material and Craft
The entire VENICEM lighting range is produced on the island of Murano. The workshops the brand collaborates with preserve techniques established centuries ago: lampwork — working molten glass at a flame; casting — pouring into moulds; murrina — creating coloured patterns from glass rods fused together and sliced into cross-sections.
VENICEM's defining characteristic is the deliberate rejection of uniformity. Trace elements in the glass composition, the temperature of the workshop air, the movement of the glassblower's hands — all introduce subtle but real variations into every piece. Two pendants from the same series will never be perfectly identical in colour and transparency. This variability is not a defect but an intentional property, prized by designers who seek authentic rather than serial solutions.
VENICEM glass is available in both clear and opal versions with soft light diffusion, and in rich colourations — amber, cobalt, green, smoked grey. A single collection typically offers a dozen colour options, enabling precise alignment with a specific project's palette.
Collections
The VENICEM range covers all formats of designer lighting: pendant lights, wall sconces, floor lamps and table lamps. Collections are built around a single glass body that scales across configurations for all product types.
Among the most sought-after series: Almost Essence (casting technique, pure geometric forms), Optical (light refraction inside a solid glass sphere), Zen (minimalist form with emphasis on surface texture). For large-scale projects — hotel lobbies, restaurants, private residences with high ceilings — VENICEM offers custom solutions: module groupings, non-standard suspension lengths, exclusive colour combinations.

VENICEM works with Murano island masters who preserve centuries-old hand-blowing techniques.
