Frigerio at Salone del Mobile 2026 — glass cubes, a nod to the past

Frigerio is an Italian furniture manufacturer with a long history. At Salone 2026 the brand made an unexpected but well-aimed move: putting glass and crystal inserts back at the centre of the exhibition.

The stand's heroes: furniture with thick clear glass fronts in metal frames. These are the 'cubes' — display cabinets, side units, wall unit sections that were popular across Europe in the 1970s. But Frigerio has reinterpreted them: contemporary proportions, slimmer frames in brass or black metal, LED lighting inside each module.

The result reads as unexpectedly current. Fashion cycles — and this is one of those cases where 'hello from the past' lands without irony.
