De Castelli at Salone del Mobile 2026 — metal as a design language
The Italian manufacturer works with steel and iron the way a sculptor works with clay — and at the 2026 stand this feels especially vivid.
De Castelli is a brand with no real competitors in its niche. They work exclusively with metal — steel, corten, brass, bronze — and make interior objects from it that are impossible to confuse with anything else.
At Salone 2026 the stand was built around the theme of patina and time. Every piece — console, shelf, light, door handle — looks as if it has passed through decades, but this is not ageing, it's deliberately crafted texture. The brand calls it "living metal": the surface continues to change after installation.
New for 2026: the corten furniture range has expanded to include coffee tables and side cabinets. Also debuting was a collection of mirrors in handmade metal frames — each unique.
